Meow!

I'm Mike, and I'm a 1 year old male domestic long hair kitty!  I am currently in the market for my "furever" home. I am a beautiful orange tiger striped guy with the softest fur.  I am very sweet and love attention! I will nudge your hand to get more attention from you. Can you be my "furever" family? Please come and meet me at the shelter and take me home as soon as possible! Did I mention that my adoption fee will be waived (FREE) with your approved application?

Purrrrrr,
Mike

Woof! I'm Sophie. I am a beautiful 6 years young Pitbull mix girl! I am a very sweet girl who loves people. I already know the "sit" command and am ready and willing to learn any other commands you would like to teach me!  I would make a great walking or hiking companion. I can be dominate with other dogs ,so if you already have a dog, I would love to meet them before I go home with you. I'd really like to find a family of my very own to love soon.

Love,

Sophie

WOOF, WOOF! My name is Gizmo.  I'm only a year old--practically just a puppy!  I am a black and white Hound mix guy who's very friendly. I love people, and I seem to do ok with other dogs. I love playing with toys and would like to have some to play with in my new home.  Maybe we could play a good old game or two of fetch?  I aced all my tests here at the shelter with flying colors. I am looking for the most "pawesome furever" home.  Won't you come meet me and be my "furever" family today!

Love

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
