Meow! I'm Wally, and I am only 7 months old--just a baby practically! I am a beautiful black and white kitty guy who came to the shelter as a stray. I am in the market for the "purrrrfect furever" home. Please come and meet me at the shelter and take me home as soon as possible! I would love to have a home in time for the Thanksgiving holiday so I can share your turkey with you! Did I mention that my adoption fee will be waived (FREE) with your approved application?

Purr,  Wally

Woof! I'm BoBo. I am a super sweet 1 year old Pitbull guy, practically still just a puppy! I came to the shelter as an owner release through no fault of my own. I am such a sweet and friendly guy who loves people.  I aced all the tests they gave me here at the shelter!  I love toys and rawhide. I can be a bit nippy with other doggies, so if you already have other doggies, I would love to meet them before you take me home.  I am going to make some family an incredible companion and friend!  Please come meet me today and take me home in time for Thanksgiving!  I am ready to have some turkey with you.

Love,

BoBo

Woof!! My name is Cletus, and I'm only a year old. I am a gorgeous American Bulldog mix boy. I came to the shelter as a stray, and sadly my former owners never came to bail me out.  I am super sweet--I love people!  If you have other doggies, I would like to meet them before you take me home as I can be dominant. I am looking for the most "pawesome furever" home in time for Turkey Day!  Won't you come meet me and be my "furever" family today!

Love

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
