Adoptable Pets of the Week
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he (she) loves himself (herself).” --Josh Billings

Pet of the Week--"Brutus"--ID# 1070178
Brutus
"Brutus"--ID# 1070178
Meet Brutus, the happy-go-lucky black Lab!  Brutus is about a year and a half old and is a very playful guy.  He absolutely loves everyone he meets and is going to make a great pet for some lucky family.  Brutus also like other dogs and plays well with them.  Brutus would make a great tennis ball fetcher--he loves to play.  If you are in the market for a sweet, playful pup, then Brutus is your guy!  Come on down and meet him today.  PS:  We hear that IF Brutus is still available this weekend, he will be making an appearance at the PetEx at the Roanoke Civic Center!  However, wouldn't it be great if he finds his "furever" home before the event?!?!

Brutus is currently staying at the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection and is in danger of euthanasia.  If you are interested in saving his life by adopting him or if you are a rescue organization, please contact the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection (RCACP) at (540) 344-4922 Ext. 300 or by sending an email to: . Please note that all meet and greets with RCACP pets are by appointment only. Before adoption, all pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, the RCACP's hours for adoption are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You may also submit an application by email. The application can be found at www.rcacp.org. Adoption requests are accepted by telephone: (540) 344-4922. You must submit an application along with your request to hold your place in the order requests are received.  Thank you for saving a life!

Pet of the Week--"Kimba"--ID#1063168
Kimba
"Kimba"--ID#1063168
Kimba is a sweet 11 month old kitty.  Kimba is your typical youngster who loves to run and play.  She loves people, especially if you take the time to play with her.  She dreams of having a family who will provide her with all kinds of toys to play with and maybe a nice window that she can watch the birds and squirrels outside.  If you think you might be the family Kimba dreams of, come on down and take this cute little girl home with you!

Kimba is one of the many beautiful cats and kittens who are waiting to find their "furever" homes at RCACP in Roanoke. Make an appointment to meet them today and find out just what Sigmund Freud meant when he said, "Time spent with cats is never wasted"!

Kimba is currently staying at the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection and is in danger of euthanasia. Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
