Dear Santa Paws:

MEOW! I'm Winter. I am a gorgeous silky, grey tabby kitty who is only about a year old.  I came to the shelter as stray.  I would really like to have a "furever" home in time for the holidays! Santa, if you can make my wish come true, I will be sure to have my new family leave out some milk and cookies for you! Please be sure to let people know that
my
adoption fee will be waived (FREE) and thanks to a generous donor, through 12/24/16, I will come with a brand new collar and bag of food with an approved application!

Purrrrrrr,

Winter

Dear Santa Paws:

Woof, Woof!  I'm Mr. Jeffery Pudding--Pudding for short.  I have been a very good boy this year! I am looking for my "furever" home after coming to the shelter as a stray. Can you believe my former family never came to pick me up??  I'm a beautiful white Pitbull with brown spots, and
I am only about 2 years old. The people here at the shelter say I am very friendly and gentle. My wish is to have a home where I can be the only dog and have all the attention!  Can you find my "furever" family Santa and tell them all about me and what a good boy I am?  Be sure to tell them that all dog adoptions are fully sponsored (FREE with approve application) until 12/24/16 by a generous donor!

Love,

Pudding

Dear Santa Paws:

WOOF!  My name is June, and I'm only about 6 years old.  I am a beautiful Hound mix girl who came to the shelter as stray with my sister, Dolly. Isn't it hard to believe our former family never came to pick me and Dolly up?!?!  I am a very friendly, gentle, and sweet. I love people, but I only do well with my sister as far as other doggies go.  I would like to ask you for my very own "furever" home and family just in time for the holidays, and one for my sister, too!  I would also like to have some toys and a ball to play with. Do you think you can find me and my sister a family in time, Santa? Me and my sister can be adopted separately or together. Please tell everyone that all dog adoptions are fully sponsored (FREE with approve application) until 12/24/16 by a generous donor!

Love

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once an animal has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
