WOOF WOOF! I'm Sia, and I am a beautiful Belgian Shepherd dog. I came to the shelter as stray, and I am so glad I don't have to be out on my own anymore!  I am a youngster, too, at only about 8 months old.  I am just a happy, wiggly girl who passed all of her tests here at the shelter with flying colors.  I need a family who has time to train me and give me lots of exercise.  I am still basically just a pup, so I do have a lot of puppy energy.  I seem to do ok with other dogs.  I hope you can come meet me soon and be my "furever" family.

Love,

Sia

Woof Woof!  I'm Zane, and I am looking for my "furever" home after coming to the shelter as a stray. Can you believe no one came to bail out a gorgeous boy like me?   I'm a handsome dark brindle colored Pitbull, and I am only about 2 years old.  I am an extremely friendly boy who loves people and gets along ok with other dogs.  Best of all I aced all my tests here at the shelter!  I am ready to find my "furever" home today.  Would you come meet me? I hope you can be my "furever" family.

Kisses,

Zane

Pick Me!

Who is RCACP?

The Regional Center for Animal Control & Protection (RCACP) is an open intake facility accepting stray and lost animals from animal control officers and the public, as well as owner relinquished pets, from the City and County of Roanoke, the County of Botetourt, and the Town of Vinton. The RCACP posts pictures of lost or strayed animals on their website, www.rcacp.org, to make it possible to search for a lost pet online. The website also contains a lost and found database that allows someone who has lost a pet, or someone who has found a pet, to post information on the animal to help reunite the pet with his/her family.

Adopting a Friend

Once a pet has passed his/her required holding time at the facility to allow the owner to reclaim him/her, the RCACP works with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, rescue groups and other shelters to place available animals in suitable homes. Animals who are housed at the RCACP that are posted on the Petfinder.com website have been deemed available and can be seen by visiting the center Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 5:30 pm and Saturday 11:30 - 4:00 pm. Once an adoption request is placed, an appointment will be made to complete the adoption through the RVSPCA. Each will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted. To place an adoption or rescue request, or for more complete information, please email us at  or call (540) 344-4922. Be sure to give us the animal's ID number to assure your name is on the right pet.
