The Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection (RCACP) is located at 1510 Baldwin Avenue NE, Roanoke, Virginia. Stray animals from the City of Roanoke, Counties of Botetourt and Roanoke, and the Town of Vinton are brought to the RCACP to be reunited with their families or adopted out to new families when they are not reclaimed. While RCACP is located next door to the Roanoke Valley SPCA, they are not affiliated with the SPCA organization, nor is the SPCA affiliated in any way with RCACP. If you are missing your pet, please check at the RCACP first and check back frequently as animals arrive daily.
The RCACP is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with adoption hours running Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please view all of the RCACP adoptable pets below! Then, check out the FAQs on adopting a pet from the RCACP.
PET OF THE WEEK: IRIS |
 |
|
Say hello to our Pet of the Week, Iris, who came to the RCACP on June 13th as a stray. Iris needs a hero. She is such a beautiful and fun girl who is full of energy. Iris would love a home with a fenced backyard and a family that is active. Iris gets very talkative when she is happy and excited to see you. Her little wiggle butt bounces all over the floor when you walk up to her. She can’t get enough of people. Iris is about a year old and is fully vetted and already spayed. Go meet Iris and take her home TODAY!!
All resident dogs and people who live in the house must meet with the dog before the adoption to ensure compatibility. The adoption fee is normally $20.00, but is NO COST DURING EVENTS with APPROVED adoption applications. On most Thursdays, the RCACP is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an adoption event called "Furrsday Thursday"! They also normally have an event every Saturday, too. For event information, dates, and times, be sure to follow their Facebook page. If you have any questions, please contact the RCACP at (540) 344-4922.
