Have you received a letter from Home Emergency Insurance Solutions asking you to purchase water service line insurance?
If so, you are not alone. It was brought to our attention that many Vinton residents have received this letter and felt a little confused. The letter is offering insurance for your service line - the portion of water line running between our water meter and your home. This portion of your water service line is the responsibility of the homeowner to repair. However, the town does not make it a practice of recommending vendors.
The town of Vinton is in no way affiliated with the distribution of this letter. It is to the discretion of the homeowner to obtain insurance if they choose to do so. The town recommends you speak to your home insurance company and possibly speak with your neighbors for personal references for insurance companies offering this type of insurance. It is NOT a requirement to get insurance on this line.
