[ARCHIVED] Water Main Break - 418 Chestnut Street

Public Works is aware of a water main break in the vicinity of 418 Chestnut Street. Our crew is on site and currently awaiting utilities in the area to be marked. Once it is safe to dig we will begin making repairs. In the meantime, you will experience low pressure to no water. This could affect 20 or more homes depending on where we have to shut off the valves. Our projected repair time is three hours.

Once water is restored, you may have brown water. We suggest that you run the cold water in your tub for approximately 20 minutes and flush your commodes twice each. These actions should pull enough water through your home to clear out your service line.

We appreciate your patience while we work through this emergency. If you have questions, feel free to contact Public Works at (540) 983-0646. Thank you.
