You may be aware of construction on the Glade-Tinker Wastewater Interceptor Project taking place in the Walnut Avenue/5th Street area. Up to this point the work has been away from the streets. Upcoming stages of the project will extend into the street. In consideration of the safety of the workers at the site and the travelling public, it will be necessary to close a street during this time.
Beginning Monday, October 29th, the section of 5th Street from Cleveland Avenue to Walnut Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Access to the alley will be restricted at the 5th Street end, so drivers that use this alley are being asked to use the 4th Street end for access. The duration of the closure is planned to be two weeks; the street is expected to be reopened to traffic by November 12th.
