In an attempt to keep the Vinton water system at top performance and reduce unplanned water service interruptions, an aged water regulator is being replaced with a new regulator on Finney Drive. In order to facilitate this operation and maintain water service to all customers, Public Works crews closed some valves and opened others which changed the origination and direction of the water flow in some areas. After completion of the work the valves and flow will be returned to normal.
The areas affected by this temporary change are Montgomery Village, Crofton, and parts of the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Hardy Road. Customers in these areas may experience a reduction in their regular water pressure. The project is expected to be completed Friday, January 11th, at which time Public Works will begin returning vales and flow back to the previous arrangement. Some adjustments may be necessary, but normal pressure should be reestablished within a few days. Thank you for your patience during this upgrade. If there are any questions please contact the Vinton Public Works Department at (540) 983-0646.
